Battle For The Earth

Watch for Multi-Pure on "Battleground Earth"!
Watch for Multi-Pure on "Battleground Earth"!

As your blog host (Trina Boice), I'll be inviting guests to join us every now and then to share their passions (at least the ones that aren't illegal or fattening). Today's musings are brought to you by one of Multi-Pure's brightest stars, Kenton Jones!

Riding a green wave of pure water into a battle for the earth!

Was that a little too dramatic? Too bad, because I can't help being excited about this shift in consumer consciousness to all things "Green." Now, I'll be the first to admit, the green thing has maybe gone a bit too far. Some companies are promoting their products, or inventing products, just so they can slap a label on it and call it green. There's a term for that; it's called "greenwashing."

All of the greenwashing put aside, there's a bigger
message that's seeping into the consumer's mind: we need to change our
lifestyles. Consumers are now devouring this message and it's creating a
tremendous demand for legitimate products that help promote sustainable
living, such as Multi-Pure!

Before I get too far on my first rant and rave, I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Kenton Jones and I am a Marketing Manager here at Multi-Pure. I'll be posting blogs, a few times a month, about my
experiences in the water filter marketplace. I've had the pleasure of
working in almost all aspects of the company, so hopefully I'll also be able to give you some insight into how our company works. I'm positively
thrilled to have this opportunity to share with you.

Okay, that's out of the way.

Where was I? Right, sustainable living, growing market, and Multi-Pure. It turns out that this push for all things green has permeated all aspects of our lives, even our leisure time. If you haven't noticed already, there's a new cable television network (a spin-off of the Discovery Channel) called Planet Green.

This channel was launched mid-summer with the sole purpose of airing only eco-themed and green-themed programming. One such program,
which is now in mid-season, is called "Battleground Earth: Ludacris vs.
Tommy Lee." For those of you who aren't quite plugged into pop-culture,
Ludacris is a Rap music star - as big as they come; Tommy Lee is a Rock
star - he's notorious for everything that comes with that job title. The
show is a semi-reality/quasi-documentary/pseudo-game show featuring these
music stars in a variety of green themed challenges.

So the Battleground Earth (we'll call it BGE) producers call me up one day last spring (thanks to MP Independent Distributor Cynthia Gallimore) and say they'll be in Las Vegas shooting the latest episode of BGE. For the Las Vegas episode, the producers would like to use some of our products on air, and have a company spokesperson come out and say a few words about water. Great! Unfortunately, I wasn't bright enough to volunteer somebody else to be the spokesperson.

Shooting day arrived, a sweltering Sunday in May, and I was prepped and
ready for Multi-Pure's big day in the spotlight. I won't ruin the suspense for you to tell you how Multi-Pure was incorporated into the show's challenge - you'll have to see it to believe it. The show's production took up the entirety of a large restaurant on the Las Vegas Strip; and we were there for about 8 hours, for what could be a 5 minute segment. It was quite a spectacle with multiple cameras, lighting equipment, sound equipment, dozens of people, and of course the rock stars and their entourages. Bonus, keep a close eye out for Alvin Rice, Multi-Pure's President!

The show itself may not be your cup of tea, afterall we're talking about a Rapper (a genuinely nice guy) and a Rockstar (his focus was really on his female companions); and you may have to exercise some patience to get
through all the glitz and glam. What struck me about the whole experience was that a lot of people went to a lot of trouble, and somebody spent some big money to put on a show about sustainable living. They wouldn't do this if there weren't eager consumers, yearning for this message. Do you think consumers are ready for your message? I do.

Until next time.

KJ

PS. Our episode of BGE is scheduled to air on Planet Green, Sunday night
(9/21) at 10/9 central.
