The Chattahoochee River in Atlanta
I lived in beautiful Georgia for 15 years and loved every minute of it. Well, except for the ridiculous humidity and the fire ants. I loved the fire flies that glowed in the summer time night sky, the warm southern hospitality, the gorgeous greenery everywhere, and watching the Chattahoochee River flow by.
I just read a very disturbing report about my favorite southern river that shows a scary trend all over the country. The E. coli bacteria level in the Chattahoochee River, which is the drinking water source for more than 3.5 million people, including 70 percent of the people in metro Atlanta, recently tested 42 times greater than the highest safe level, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution said in a September 27 article. YIKES!
Alvin Rice, President of Multi-Pure International, just yesterday showed me another article he found that demonstrates a link between a heightened rate of birth abnormalities among children of women in the United States whose drinking water was contaminated. Statistics show that pregnant women who drink compromised water expose their fetus to harmful chemicals that can result in abnormalities affecting the heart, skeleton, nervous system and eyes.
Newborn babies in the Cape Cod area of Massachussetts were found to have a heightened rate of cleft lips and palates and neural tube defects such as spina bifida. This particular study focused on contamination of perchlorethylene (PCE), which is the same as Tetrachlorethylene, a solvent that our Multi-Pure drinking water systems CAN remove! YAY! Now that's just one more reason why you should use a Multi-Pure filter!
